Topps is gearing up for the release of its 2023 Bowman Draft Baseball collection, and they're making a surprising move by featuring former NFL star Tom Brady. Brady, who was also a talented multi-sport athlete during his high school years, will be seen on these cards donning a Montreal Expos jersey, commemorating his selection by the Expos in the 18th round of the draft before he chose to pursue football at the University of Michigan.

This unique series will include 81 autographed cards of Brady, and Topps plans to enhance the excitement with an amusing video soon. Among the glimpses provided on social media, one card has already made waves. It features Brady with an inscription hinting at his alternate sports path, humorously suggesting that if baseball didn't pan out, football was always an option. Additionally, a French inscription pays homage to the Expos.

The highlight of this collection is an autographed card numbered 12/50, a nod to Brady's iconic jersey number. This card is already creating a buzz, with a private collector offering a whopping $500,000 for it. Besides this, there's a rare 1-1 SuperFractor auto card.

Interestingly, Brady holds the distinction of being the last Expos draft pick to retire from professional sports. The Expos relocated to Washington, D.C., and were rebranded as the Nationals after 2004.

For collectors, the 2023 Bowman Draft will be available in two formats: Hobby, which includes three autographs per box, and Jumbo, offering five autographs. The official release is set for Tuesday, December 12, though some boxes have already surfaced, with Hit Factory Sports Cards in Arizona unveiling a non-signed Brady card. Meanwhile, Brady's autographed cards are already making appearances on eBay, much to the excitement of fans and collectors alike.
