In recent years, sports card values have skyrocketed, with an increasing number of players’ cards crossing the million-dollar threshold. Yet one notable player missing from that list is Shohei Ohtani. Despite his superstar status and fan fervor, Ohtani’s most valuable card sale has yet to surpass $400,000, an unusual case amid the high-value market.

As the Dodgers and Yankees face off in the World Series, Topps highlighted the top card sales for some of the series’ standout players. Here’s a look at the highest-value cards in the lineup:

  • Jasson Dominguez: $474,000
  • Aaron Judge: $324,000
  • Juan Soto: $300,000
  • Anthony Volpe: $150,000
  • Mookie Betts: $123,000

Yankees players lead the chart, with Jasson Dominguez’s 1/1 Bowman Superfractor Autograph topping out at $474,000. Anthony Volpe also makes a strong showing with a red Bowman Chrome autograph, numbered to five, which fetched $150,000 as a PSA 10.

Juan Soto’s 1/1 Bowman Superfractor Autograph has an interesting backstory; after the autograph was altered and regraded, PSA reportedly repurchased the card, removing it from the marketplace.

In a recent auction hosted by Fanatics and Sotheby’s, several of these top cards appeared, including items listed in the Topps graphic. Notably, though, there may be an error in Topps’ report on Ohtani’s top sale. eBay and CardLadder data show that a 2018 Topps Definitive Gold Framed Shohei Ohtani Rookie Auto BGS 9.5 numbered 13/30 sold on October 15 for $350,000, suggesting his top sale may indeed approach that higher mark.
