It’s not every day a six-year-old becomes the talk of the baseball card world, but that’s exactly what happened when young Champ Stutts from Texas stumbled upon a remarkable treasure. This budding baseball card collector, who already boasts a collection of over a thousand cards, recently uncovered a "one of one" Paul Skenes Onyx card—a find so extraordinary it left even seasoned collectors envious.
On a seemingly ordinary Monday, Champ opened a pack of cards and found the ultra-rare Paul Skenes card. His pure excitement, captured on video by his mom Kristi and shared on their family TikTok account, "Stutts Family Fun," quickly became a viral sensation.
Within hours, the video caught the eye of LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, who happens to be Paul Skenes’ girlfriend. Dunne not only commented on the TikTok but also shared the video with Skenes himself.
“She showed it to Paul Skenes,” Champ explained. “And Paul Skenes commented. I think he said, ‘You’re coming to one of my baseball games.’”
As if that weren’t enough, the Pittsburgh Pirates also joined the excitement. They reached out to the Stutts family and promised to send Champ a Paul Skenes jersey, cementing this unforgettable moment for the young fan.
Champ’s love for baseball cards is no coincidence—it runs in the family. His dad, who first began hunting for a Skenes Topps Chrome rookie patch card last November, passed down his passion for collecting. Now, Champ’s enthusiasm is rubbing off on his two-year-old brother, who insists on sleeping with cards every night.
But even as a devoted big brother, Champ has his limits. “Bro, don’t bend it,” he sternly reminds his sibling, ensuring the more valuable cards stay pristine.
