Just as baseball swings back into action, the 2025 Topps Baseball Series 1 Celebration release is capturing collector excitement—particularly with its quirky and wildly popular Big Head Variation inserts.

The humorous caricature-style cards have quickly become fan favorites, sparking a surge in secondary market interest. No surprise, considering the star-studded 20-card lineup that features baseball giants like Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Elly De La Cruz, and Bobby Witt Jr., alongside standout rookies Dylan Crews and James Wood.

One of these cards already hit the $1,000 mark: a Mike Trout Big Head Variation numbered to just 50, according to Card Ladder.

Shohei Ohtani is dominating early sales, holding five of the top 10 highest sales for these variations, ranging from $760 to $950. His top card, numbered to just 25 copies, fetched the highest of those prices.

Aaron Judge, off to an explosive start this season, is also drawing serious attention. His card recently sold for $609 on March 31, reflecting his ongoing popularity among collectors.

Paul Skenes’ Big Head Variation card, featuring the All-Star Rookie Cup, made waves with two sales for his /50 version—first at $525 on March 29 and then climbing to $808 the following day.

Meanwhile, a super-rare Bobby Witt Jr. variation numbered to just five was snapped up quickly for $800 on March 28, showing just how much collectors value scarcity.

Overall, collectors have been eagerly scooping up these Big Head Variations, with Card Ladder recording 51 sales within the first week of release alone. Prices ranged from an accessible $45 for Dylan Crews up to that record-setting $1,000 Trout card. Clearly, baseball fans—and their collections—are loving the big-headed fun.
