The Sapphire brand is back in basketball — and it’s bringing serious heat. After years of crushing it in baseball and other sports, 2024-25 Topps Chrome Sapphire Basketball marks a full return to the NBA scene with a slick chromium look, colorful parallels, and on-card autographs that give the set some real weight.

It’s a limited-edition product with a sharp layout. Boxes don’t come stuffed with cards, but every pull has a purpose.

What’s in the Box

Each hobby box delivers:

  • 8 packs

  • 4 cards per pack

  • 1 guaranteed autograph

That’s 32 cards total, with plenty of numbered color and at least one shot at a hard-signed auto. It’s a quick rip, but a satisfying one.

The Base Set

The checklist includes 200 cards, just like the standard Topps Chrome release. Most of the base set is built around active NBA veterans, but you’ll also find a good mix of rookies and throwback legends. The design mirrors the standard Chrome format but adds that signature Sapphire look with blue icy foil and chrome stock that stands out right away.

Sapphire Parallels

Color parallels are where Sapphire gets its name, and they’re just as flashy as ever. Here's what to expect in terms of odds and numbering:

  • Green Sapphire, numbered to 99, falls 1 in every 7 packs

  • Gold Sapphire, numbered to 50, appears 1 in 9

  • Orange Sapphire, numbered to 25, lands 1 in 17

  • Purple Sapphire, numbered to 10, pops up 1 in 42

  • Red Sapphire, numbered to 5, falls 1 in 84

  • Padparadscha, a true one-of-one, hits once every 417 packs

Each color pops off the card in a different way, and the chase for lower-numbered versions is a big draw here.

Autographs

Each box includes one autograph, and there’s a healthy amount of variety in the autograph lineup. Signatures fall under five themes:

  1. Base Sapphire Autographs

  2. Certified Autograph Rookies

  3. Next Stop Signatures

  4. 1973 Topps Autographs

  5. Sky-Light Signatures

Every one of these autograph sets has its own color breakdown, including Orange (/25), Purple (/10), Red (/5), and Padparadscha one-of-ones. That gives each pull plenty of range, from solid rookie ink to throwback vibes on the 1973 design.

Inserts

There are two official insert sets in the product, each with its own chase value:

  • Sapphire Selections shows up once every 11 packs and highlights top names from the 2024 NBA Draft class

  • Infinity is much tougher, with odds of 1 in 160 packs. It’s a 25-card set featuring standout veterans and stars across the league

Neither insert is guaranteed in every box, but they’re strong additions when they show up.
