In the recent November Premier Auction hosted by PWCC Marketplace, a 1998 Skybox Premium Star Rubies Michael Jordan cardachieved a record sale of $216,000. This significant sale sets a new high for the /50 parallel card from the Skybox Premium Star Rubies series and marks it as the second-highest sale ever for a Star Rubies parallel card.

The Star Rubies series is renowned for pioneering serial-numbered cards within the collecting community, adding a layer of rarity that was much needed at the time. The 1998 series holds particular value as it was the last to feature Michael Jordan before he retired at the end of that season. The cards are known for their susceptibility to wear due to their intricate foil surface and borderless design. The record-breaking Jordan card, graded PSA 7, stands as one of only four at this grade, with just five other examples rated higher.

The auction also saw other record-breaking sales, such as a PSA 1 (MC) graded 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311 card, which fetched $35,400 despite its miscut status. A Kobe Bryant 1999 Upper Deck Game Jerseys patch auto card, one of only eight produced, set a card-specific record at $32,700. Additionally, a 2020 Topps Dynasty F1 dual patch auto card featuring Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas achieved a record $20,400, the highest for the card.
