In a major move that’s shaking up the trading card world, PSA is stepping beyond the grading lab and into the retail scene — and it’s doing so with a powerful partner.

On May 30, PSA will open its first physical retail location inside the brand-new, 14,000-square-foot Burbank Sportscards superstore in Southern California. The collaboration marks a milestone for both companies, bringing together two giants of the hobby in one brick-and-mortar space that aims to feel more like a card show than a typical shop.

“This is a first-of-its-kind experience,” said PSA president Ryan Hoge. “Collectors love the face-to-face connection they get at card shows and local events. Now we’re offering that kind of access in a permanent, everyday setting.”

The PSA storefront, staffed entirely by PSA employees, will offer on-site submission services for a wide variety of collectibles — including trading cards, autographs, packs, tickets, Funko Pops, and other memorabilia. Collectors can also opt to store items in the PSA Vault or consign them directly to eBay.

Meanwhile, Burbank Sportscards owner Rob Veres is unveiling a transformed retail experience that might just redefine what a card shop can be. With over 40 million cards in inventory — much of it accessible through kiosks and organized storage systems — the new space aims to make card hunting both efficient and exciting.

"We’re not just building a store. We’re building the pulse of the hobby,” said Veres. “We want collectors to walk in with their checklists and leave with boxes checked. As many as possible.”

The store will even feature more than a million cards available for just 25 cents, sorted meticulously by sport and year — a throwback nod to old-school bargain bins, reimagined at scale.

What makes this retail location different is the deliberate blend of digital convenience and in-person discovery. It’s a physical hub for a hobby that has increasingly gone online — now bringing collectors back into the tactile joy of flipping through boxes and talking shop.

For PSA, this new venture is the latest in a wave of efforts to simplify and personalize the submission process. Pop-up events have surged in recent months, allowing hobbyists to interact with PSA reps at card shows and smaller shops. But this permanent setup in Burbank gives the company a central place to serve collectors on a daily basis.

It’s also the next chapter in Burbank’s evolution. The company made headlines at the 2024 National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland when Veres announced that all of Burbank’s card inventory was being pulled from eBay in favor of an exclusive deal with Fanatics Collect.

Now, with PSA as a retail partner and a massive new storefront ready to open, Burbank Sportscards is doubling down on its commitment to collectors — offering scale, speed, and service under one roof.

Whether you’re a longtime PSA customer or a first-time collector sifting through quarter boxes, this new space promises to be something special — and maybe even a glimpse into the future of the hobby.
