If you haven’t been paying attention to Hyeseong Kim, now’s the time to catch up—because the hobby sure has. Since debuting with the Dodgers on May 3, the 26-year-old rookie has been torching opposing pitchers, posting a .386 average with 11 RBIs and a .984 OPS across 31 games. Not surprisingly, his 2025 Topps Series 2 rookie cards are officially heating up.
Kim’s cards are getting the full spotlight treatment in Series 2. He’s got base cards, parallels, SSPs, inserts, and autos—basically, everything short of his own insert set. He also appears in the 1990 Topps Baseball throwback insert, which, thanks to its border color, looks tailor-made for a Dodgers uniform.
Some of his biggest hits so far? Redemption autos are leading the charge, with several selling between $1,200 and $1,704. That’s no fluke—these redemptions are bringing serious heat early.
The rarest parallels are also putting up solid numbers. A Gold Foil 1/1 sold for $650 on June 14, a Black Diamante /10 brought in $600, and a Fireworks Foil /10 popped off for $350. The Red Fireworks Foil /5 is another head-turner, currently making its rounds on the secondary market.
Then there’s the fan-favorite 1990 Mojo Foil RC—a solid lower-end pickup that’s been trading around $10, while the auto versions of this insert have crept into the $400 range already. For a guy who’s only been in the majors for a little over a month, that’s some serious traction.
Another standout: the Golden Mirror Variation, which features Kim mid-interview, mic in hand. It’s not your typical action shot, but it’s one of those cards that gets collectors talking—and bidding. Listings are floating between $150 and $425 on eBay.
And if you're looking for the crown jewel, that might be Kim’s Flagship Real One Auto Orange Foil /25 redemption. One of them just sold for $1,704, and another is currently listed for $1,500. Not bad for a guy who’s still finding his spot in the lineup.
The Dodgers have been dominating both on the field and in the card world. Of the 20 $1K+ sales from 2025 Topps Series 2 tracked by Card Ladder so far, 16 are Dodgers cards—led by Shohei Ohtani (12), Kim (3), and Roki Sasaki (1). When you play for a team with that kind of star power, collectors pay attention.
Kim is proving he belongs, both in the box score and in the binder. If his performance continues at this pace, don’t be surprised if his rookie cards push even higher. For now, he’s gone from relative unknown to one of the hottest names in the 2025 rookie crop—and hobbyists are taking notice.
