Wheatland Auction Services has launched its latest online catalog, offering an impressive array of over 700 lots that span a broad spectrum of sports collectibles. This auction includes high-grade new and vintage sports singles and sets, autographs, memorabilia, and other intriguing items. Collectors have the opportunity to explore a diverse range from 19th and early 20th-century cards to modern-era wax packs.

A standout item in the auction is an early 1950s Wheaties Mickey Mantle card, part of a sports stars set produced by General Mills that was never broadly released. Often dated as a 1951 issue, this 5×7 card is considered one of Mantle’s most elusive collectibles. Of the limited number graded by PSA, the card available in this auction is rated EX 5, highlighting its rarity as high-grade examples are infrequently found. A similar PSA 7 card recently sold for nearly $10,000, indicating the high collector interest in such rare pieces.

The auction prominently features an extensive selection of single cards from Hall of Famers and stars across various sports, including rookie cards of Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, Brooks Robinson, Bob Gibson, Pete Rose, and Rod Carew, along with numerous cards spanning Mickey Mantle’s illustrious career.

Collectors will also find complete sets from 1954 and 1956 Topps and partial sets from several other years. Highlight sports singles include a Jim Brown rookie card and a 1980-81 Larry Bird-Magic Johnson rookie card, marking significant offerings in football and basketball respectively.

International collectors might be drawn to the complete 1932 Bulgaria Sport set, which features 272 cards in the original album, showcasing prominent American sports figures like Babe Ruth, Max Schmeling, and Walter Hagen.

The modern card offerings are equally impressive, featuring a 2017 Panini Prestige Patrick Mahomes Draft Day Signatures card, one of only 25 red ink versions, graded SGC 9 with a 10 autograph grade. Additionally, a unique 1/1 2021 Topps Sterling five-patch autograph card of Ken Griffey Jr. and a 2006-07 Upper Deck SP Signature Edition card signed by Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Julius Erving, numbered to 15, are up for grabs.

Other notable lots include a 2022-23 Panini Immaculate NBA sealed basketball case, an Upper Deck Authenticated Lebron James autographed throwback Cavaliers jersey (1970-74 style), and a collection of 96 Perez Steele 6″x8″ Great Moments HOF cabinet cards, with 56 of 96 autographed by legends such as Mantle, Ted Williams, Sandy Koufax, and Hank Aaron.
