Gen Con 2025 marked two big milestones for Disney Lorcana: the trading card game’s second anniversary and one of its most content-packed showcases yet. Over four days in Indianapolis, fans got a first look at the upcoming Fabled expansion, sneak peeks at 2026 content, a brand-new puzzle line, and a handful of surprises no one saw coming.
Here’s everything that came out of “The Best Four Days in Gaming” for Lorcana players and collectors.
Hitting shelves October 3, the Lorcana Collection Starter Set is designed for players just getting into the game. It includes:
A 4-pocket portfolio featuring Mickey Mouse — Brave Little Tailor
A Tinker Bell — Giant Fairy promo card
Four Fabled booster packs
A collector’s guide
Alongside it comes the Elsa Gift Box, packing in five booster packs, an Elsa — The Fifth Spirit promo, a storage box, and three punch-out card dividers. Both items will retail for $29.99.
While Fabled is the next big drop, Disney teased its first expansion for next year: Winterspell, arriving in Q1 2026. The theme blends snow and tropical settings, with early art featuring Stitch and Angel. If the icy twist is any clue, expect appearances from Elsa, Olaf, or both.
Q2 2026 will then see the Toy Story crew join the Lorcana universe, starting with Woody and Buzz, with other Pixar favorites likely tucked into booster packs.
A new puzzle line adds another dimension to collecting. Six 1,000-piece Lorcana puzzles will be released in the U.S. and Canada, each featuring unique card art tied to one of the game’s six ink colors. Every puzzle includes a Mickey Mouse — True Friend promo card.

The remaining Amethyst and Steel puzzles are still under wraps, and those will be Disney Store exclusives in-person and online. MSRP is $29.99 each.
After Fabled, the final set of the year will be Whispers in the Well, launching in local stores on November 7 (pre-release) and everywhere November 14. This expansion debuts a new character type—Whispers, partially formed Glimmers—and adds Zootopia’s Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and others.
The set will also bring back the 90s with characters from Gargoyles, including Demona, making it a nostalgia hit for longtime Disney fans.
The Fabled expansion lands August 25 in local card shops and September 5 in mass retail. The big reveal? Iconic rarity—even harder to pull than Enchanted cards, with full alternate art and a distinct foil treatment. The first two Iconics, Minnie Mouse — Sweetheart Princess and Mickey Mouse — Brave Little Prince, combine to form a single panoramic image.
A new rarity called Epic is also making its debut—slotted between Legendary and Enchanted. The first confirmed Epic is Stand Out from A Goofy Movie, a long-requested addition to the game.
Lorcana’s second birthday celebration delivered on every front—new cards, cross-franchise teases, collectable puzzles, and some unexpected deep-cut Disney characters. If the rest of 2025 is any indication, 2026 is going to be just as magical.
