Topps is turning the spotlight on the sluggers.
Collectors got their first look today at the upcoming All Kings insert set, which will debut in 2025 Topps Baseball Series 2. The new insert pays tribute to the game’s most dominant hitters—both past and present—and aims to build on the massive success of the “All Aces” insert, which made a triumphant return in Series 1 and focused exclusively on elite pitchers. Now, Topps is crowning baseball’s royalty with a hitter-focused sequel.
And leading the charge? None other than Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, two of the biggest names—and bats—in baseball today.
The All Kings checklist will feature 25 players total, showcasing a who's who of offensive greatness. Alongside Judge and Ohtani, expect to see the likes of Juan Soto, Elly De La Cruz, Bryce Harper, and Bobby Witt Jr.—all of whom are having standout seasons and are already considered hobby favorites. Their inclusion adds serious weight to this set’s potential appeal, not just for collectors, but for fans looking to grab the best of the best in one cohesive insert line.
The set also includes just one rookie card, but it’s a big one: James Wood of the Nationals. The 6’7” slugger has quickly become one of the most exciting young players in the league, currently sitting among MLB’s top ten in home runs with 11, while driving in 25 RBIs. His All Kings rookie could be one of the most chased cards of the insert.
But it’s not just about today’s stars. All Kings is taking a page from baseball’s rich past, blending in some true legends of the sport. Names like Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Jackie Robinson, Ken Griffey Jr., and Derek Jeter round out the insert with serious nostalgia power. For collectors who love mixing history with the modern game, this lineup is pretty close to unbeatable.
If the past is any indicator, this insert could be a big hit in the hobby. The All Aces line has already produced some impressive sales. Ohtani’s All Aces Auto /10 sold for over $6,500 in March 2024. And his standard All Aces PSA 10 from 2025 is already fetching as much as $1,775. Meanwhile, the current top sale for a 2025 All Aces card belongs to Jackson Jobe’s 1/1, which pulled in $5,300.
Even pitchers like Paul Skenes are generating heat—his PSA 10 All Aces insert sold for $1,800 in April.
Given that All Kings shifts the spotlight to position players—the ones whose names are more likely to dominate highlight reels and jersey sales—it wouldn’t be surprising to see values push even higher, especially with the star power and Hall of Fame pedigree packed into the checklist.
With Topps continuing to evolve their flagship inserts in exciting ways, All Kings feels like a natural progression—and one that might end up becoming a collector favorite for years to come. Whether you're in it for Judge, Ohtani, or the chase for that lone James Wood rookie, this is one insert set that promises plenty of cardboard royalty.
