The trading card hobby just shattered another milestone. In June 2025, more than $305 million was spent on sports and trading cards across major marketplaces and auction houses—marking the single biggest month on record, according to Card Ladder.

The $305.7 million total surpasses the previous record of $303.22 million set in March, and the final number may climb even higher as late data continues to roll in through early July.

The surge was fueled largely by eBay, which accounted for over $245 million in card sales. Goldin brought in another $32 million, and Fanatics Collect contributed $27 million for the month. In total, Card Ladder logged 5.2 million individual transactions in June, the second-highest ever recorded on the platform.

June’s top individual sale came from Goldin, where a 2009-10 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual NBA Logoman card featuring LeBron James and Kobe Bryant fetched $1.16 million. It was the lone seven-figure card of the month.

Across the board, six cards sold for more than $500,000, 68 cleared $100,000, and 239 topped $50,000, further reflecting the growing strength of the high-end market.

Grading activity also hit new highs. GemRate reported that 12.4 million cards have been graded so far in 2025—a 25% increase over last year. Of those, 7.2 million were TCG and non-sports cards, with Pokémon continuing to dominate. In fact, 97 of the top 100 most graded cards at PSA this year have been Pokémon.

The record-breaking month caps off a strong first half of 2025 for the hobby, with momentum continuing to build across sports, TCGs, and beyond.
