Say goodbye to mini boxes and small base sets. The 2024 Topps Finest Baseball release is getting a significant makeover, just in time for its annual mid-summer debut. While fans can still expect the vibrant color and chrome they love, the product configuration has changed, and the base set is expanding.

New Configuration

Topps is moving away from the two mini-boxes per Hobby box format, replacing it with six standard packs of ten cards each. Despite this change, the total card count remains the same, and each box will continue to offer two autographs. Additionally, cases will now contain eight boxes.

Expanded Base Set

The base set is growing from 125 cards to a substantial 300. This new set will feature a three-tier system:

  • Common Cards: The first 100 cards, easily accessible.
  • Uncommon Cards: The next 100 cards, with one appearing in each pack.
  • Rare Cards: The final 100 cards, with typically two found in each box.

Mike Trout leads the checklist as card #1, and the expanded set includes a variety of rookies, ranging from highly impactful to less notable. Some players will have cards across all three tiers, offering collectors a diverse range of options. Over a dozen parallels will be utilized across each tier, adding to the excitement of the hunt.
