For Bob Kenning, baseball cards were once just a fun way to enhance his bike rides, a relic of childhood that held little long-term significance.

"A lot of my cards wound up in my bicycle spokes to make my bike sound better," Kenning recalled.

For his 12-year-old grandson, Keegan, however, baseball cards are far more than that—they’re a passion and a collection he treasures.

"I would say I probably have close to 10,000 cards," Keegan said.

An Unforgettable Presidents’ Day Discovery

With chilly weather and no big plans, the grandfather-grandson duo decided to spend the day doing something they both love.

"It was Presidents’ Day. We had nothing better to do, so Keegan called me up and said, 'Hey Pawpaw, why don’t we go to Hobby Den?'" Kenning recalled.

For Keegan, the thrill of ripping open a pack is what makes the hobby so exciting.

"My favorite part is probably the chase of all the cards and the thrill of pulling them," he said.

This time, that excitement turned into something unforgettable.

A One-of-a-Kind Babe Ruth Card

As Keegan opened his pack, he hit the ultimate jackpot—a one-of-one Babe Ruth baseball card, featuring the signature of the Great Bambino himself.

David Nguyen, the owner of Hobby Den, was left speechless by the discovery.

Kenning, however, values the moment spent with his grandson even more than the card itself.

"When we can share this hobby together and have a grandfather-grandson bonding time, I mean, that’s priceless right there," he said.

Despite the incredible rarity and potential value of the Babe Ruth card, Keegan has no plans to sell it—proving that, for some collectors, it’s about more than just the money.
